Professional CV Template Review for Graduates
Every year, many fresh graduates begin their journey toward their dream careers. A good CV is their main weapon to get noticed by hiring managers. One of the most interesting CV designs I found is the template from Korina Villanueva, a Computer Science Student.
This template is neat, not too flashy, but still very elegant. The layout is vertical and well-organized. Her profile photo on the left adds a clean visual impression. Let's take a closer look at each section and how you can use this design for your own resume.
1. Name and Title
Under her name, she writes “Computer Science Student”. This is a smart move to let recruiters know her background. You can replace it with your own field, like “Marketing Graduate” or “UI/UX Designer”.
2. Contact Section
Korina places her contact info on the left sidebar: Phone, Email, Address, and Website. If you have a LinkedIn profile, place it in the website field. If you don’t, I suggest removing it to avoid empty space that ruins the layout balance.
3. Soft Skills and Tech Skills
These are essential in any resume.
A. Soft Skills:- Teamwork
- Time Management
- Leadership
- Effective Communication
- Critical Thinking
Use soft skills that truly represent you. Try to keep the length of each item consistent for a clean look.
B. Tech Skills:- Python (Expert)
- Java (Expert)
- C++ (Intermediate)
- Data Structures
- Algorithms
- SQL, MySQL
- Machine Learning
- Web Development
Adjust it with your real skills. Don’t worry if you have fewer than 8 items. Just balance it with the rest of the layout.
4. Languages
Korina lists 3: English, French, German. If you only speak 2 languages, consider adding another item in the Soft Skills section to avoid empty space.
5. Profile Summary
Recent Computer Science graduate with a passion for software development and data analysis. Eager to contribute to innovative tech projects and continue learning in a professional environment.
6. Education
List your latest education first. Include your school, degree, and year.
7. Projects
- E-commerce Platform Development
- Real-time Chat Application
Mention your own projects with 1–2 lines explaining what they are and what tools you used.
8. Achievements
If you’ve won competitions, certifications, or awards, put them here. These show credibility and passion.
